Therapeutic Style
My key goal as a psychologist is reinforcing your sense of resilience, support and empowerment in the face of whatever challenges you’re experiencing.
Some of the therapeutic styles I draw on:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Schema Therapy
CBT-E (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy-Enhanced for Eating Disorders)
Somatic, Mindfulness and Relaxation strategies
Solution-Focused, Positive Psychology
Values and Aims:
I believe that cultivating self-awareness is the first step towards change. In a session with me, I will gently encourage openness, imagination and curiosity to develop fresh perspective on your unique set of challenges.
Sessions will be collaborative and fairly active- you’ll usually walk away with a practical skills, techniques or resources to use outside therapy. I’ll apply concepts that are grounded in evidence-based research and peer-reviewed studies. My approach is also trauma-informed and highly considerate of cultural and sexual diversity.
